APPLEGREEN SERVICE STATION -LUSK M1 SOUTHBOUND

Background

Applegreen is an Irish company in business since 1992 started with the opening of our first service station in Ballyfermot, West Dublin. From there, under the stewardship of CEO Bob Etchingham and COO Joe Barrett, Applegreen expanded in Ireland, growing year on year. As at 31 December 2018, the business operated 472 forecourt sites and employed circa 10,700 people across Ireland, UK and America. To this day, Applegreen is still under the guardianship of Bob and Joe and supported by our dedicated team in our headquarters in Dublin.

Challenges

Most of the 192 Applegreen service stations are located along motorways and main roads. Claiming to be one of the best service stations in the country they're all in when it comes to service and part of this is that you'll find digital signage displaying not only commercials and product advertisements but very important information for their visitors, such as traffic news, journey times, maps and other crucial information for motorists. We were asked to co-install large 55" high brightness double sided LCD display screens. The location of the screens were right in the middle of the service station hall at approximately 5 meters high.

Solutions

Close coordination with other contractors such as electricians was a key factor of the success of this project. Our engineers were using a scissor lift to be able to reach and to work comfortably at the 7 meter height. Using heavy duty clamps to hang and secure the screen to the beams and it was double secured with safety carabiners. Cables connecting into the screen were neatly cable tied to the rods to ensure a neat finish.

Results

Another safe and secure installation completed ticking all the boxes for the big players such as Applegreen.

LEMON & DUKE - GRILL & BAR - DUBLIN 2

Background

Lemon & Duke is the go to place in Dublin City and deserves five stars for the quality of food and their service which was stamped by winning the 2018 Irish Bar Food of the Year Award.Style, elegance and good atmosphere makes this place unique and the perfect destination for tourists and locals also. We had the privilege to be the partners of Lemon & Duke for their digital signage project.

Challenges

Due to Ireland's Covid-19 pandemic legislations coming to an ease with outdoor dining being permitted from 7th of June, many establishments wanted to display their welcome messages and greetings to their old and new customers. The challenge in this project was the short notice and the unique requirements from the management. Part of the project was to install a 49" Vestel Digital Screen facing out from the window an automatic 21.5" Digital Hand Sanitiser unit that needed to be branded. On top of all this we had less then three days for the entire project including supplying Lemon & Duke with content in form of graphic design for both of the screens.

Solutions

The only solution was to get down to action. Tasks were simple, getting the hardware together was not a challenge as we're stockists for screens media players and they're ready to go. This applies for the ceiling mounted brackets also. A neat, clean and aesthetic installation was an important factor and requirement of our client. We made sure that the main power cable was fed through the bracket leaving the absolute minimum length of cable exposed in view. We have installed the Media Player and placed it into a specially allocated slot in the screen also hidden from view. Our graphic design department managed to turn around and get approval from management.

Results

We have managed to turn this project around from A to Z within 3 days from the confirmation of the contract. We have wrapped the Hand Sanitiser Unit in black as requested including adding the L&D logo. The Window display turned out to be a centrepiece of their main window. The hand sanitiser unit not only displays their menu as an extra but also provides a non touch hand sanitisation kiosk at the front door before entering the premises assuring maximum value for money but most importantly keeping wine & diners safe.

SHAKING TANG - MAYNOOTH

Background

Shaking Tang is a contemporary and purpose built food establishment in the centre of Maynooth town serving premium food and delicious bubble tea. There were no expenses spared from start to finish. Their fresh and contemporary look mirrors their products and creates the perfect match. In this establishment everything was purpose built brand new and top of the range.
Opened in 2020 it is promoted as a ‘one-stop shop for all kinds of teas and and delicious meals under one roof should we just say under the purpose built outdoor led lighted canopy and on the brand new decking. Tea lovers now have access to a variety of delicious teas and unique meals full of flavours and their success wasn't in question from the start. Shaking Tang was the talk of the town from the minute they opened their doors.

Challenges

Shaking Tang architects and owners wanted the very best to display their large variety of products. The main requirements for the display screens were to be large and bright and to be able to manage the content of their digital menu board without having to take master classes in digital signage content management :).

Solutions

We supplied Shaking Tang with four 49" Vestel Digital Signage Display Screens as these models were the perfect size for the wall areas. They also feature a 700 Nits brightness screen just as requested. We fulfilled the clients requests also about their content management requirements. We have supplied four android media players turning these screens into easily manageable digital menu boards. Finally we have recommended and chosen DSA as a premium content management and digital signage software elevating the artistic content on these screens.

Results

Our A-Z digital signage package was a turnkey solution for Shaking Tang. We have uploaded the content onto the screens before being dispatched so once out of the box and mounted in place, using the super slim flat wall mounts included, the screens did not need any more setting up or configuration. The Shaking Tang now displays their large menus on contemporary sleek and certainly eye-catching digital menu boards. They can, change, amend, schedule their content as they wish with their own digital signage software account. All parties were delighted with how the final result of the project turned out.

CORNER HOUSE BISTRO - ATHLONE

Background

A trully amazing award winning family restaurant in the hearth of Athlone town. Corner House Bistro was opened in October of 2012 by husband and wife team, Joe and Linda Connolly bringing fine dining into Athlone to another level. Service, value and quality defines The Corner House Bistro.

Challenges

This was a more combined and complex digital signage project where timing and coordination was a key. The Corner House Bistro as many other restaurants were allowed to recommence trading in early June as the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions eased and outdoor dining being permitted from 7th of June. This exciting project was closely coordinated while preparation was taking place with several tradesmen on site working as a team to meet the deadline. Our part was to install a combination of digital displays including a large Window Display, a new and contemporary 49.5" LCD Stretched Bar Display and two 49" wall mounted digital display screens in both of their downstairs and upstairs dining areas. One of the challenges we have faced was the low ceiling at the main point of sale area where we were very much restricted and limited to hardware usage as we had to insure to keep a safe ceiling height but at the same time allowing plenty of screen area to be able to display a large amount of content. Another challenge at this project was the amount of graphic designs, images requested for the different screens. Welcome messages for the window display, Menu display for the stretched bar and all of this to fit and look perfect. Finally at the upstairs dining area we had to fit a screen on the main feature wall without having any cables in view.

Solutions

We have recommended a 49.5" (1440mm x 38mm) LCD stretched bar ensuring ample display space on the screen and keeping a safe head height in the POS area. Closely working together with the owners Joe and Linda we have managed to upload over 10 slides to the screens. The Window display screen was fitted with the assistance of the carpenters which ended up looking superb and very neat from all views and angles. We have managed to find the most aesthetic option for the screen on the feature wall by fishing the main power cable through the wall down to a low level power socket.

Results

Yet again another turn key solution and full digital signage package supplied by us with an excellent result. All screens are working in perfect order displaying special offers and menus with images and plenty of information. Both parties were satisfied and very happy with the result.

X- Bolt - Santry - Dublin

Background

We have received this contract through one of Ireland's most reliable and well established office supply companies Gannons Office Solutions. Gannons we're the main contractors in this project as they have supplied the entire set up for X-Bolt from carpet tiles to desks, chairs down to the last folder offering the client a turn key solution.

The project

We were brought into this project to fit, install and set two 55" Vestel Screens and a Yealink A30 Meeting Bar into their ultra modern and brand new board room. The aim was as always to achieve a neat installation and for the boardroom attendees to conduct a high quality video conferencing experience with the privileges of two screens allowing multiple options to share presentations and to video communicate in high sound and excellent video quality.

Challenges & Solutions

The challenge started when we examined the wall where the two VESTEL 55"  https://www.vestelvisualsolutions.com/pdf/2/commercial-datasheet/pdh55uh82-4.pdf  screens needit to go. Due to the bracket and the stud work distribution we were unable to secure the brackets straight onto the metal studs therfore we had to install a robust back panel to create support for both of our screens.

The solution was to secure a 18mm MDF behind the screens on an area of 2.1 meter in width and 800 mm in height secured to 6  studs spreading the screens weight over a large area. This allowed us to secure our screens brackets to the MDF board which was the best and most solid and rigid solution to achieve a safe and secure screen installation.

Results

Perfect Installation with two screens at the same height in level with a meeting bar secured above the screens brought a professional look and state of the art conferencing solution for the company.

THE COMPLEX - DUBLIN CITY CENTRE

Background

The Complex houses a main space and a gallery space for streaming events, concerts, filming, photoshoots, large scale rehearsals, festivals, conferences, product shows and promotional events with technical support and catering as required.

The project

Installing  a 55" screen at the main entrance area facing towards the car park and main Luas Line for advertising purposes and for sharing useful information with passers and visitors of the complex.

Challenges & Solutions

We have installed at 3 meter height a 55" Vestel Professional High Brightness DIsplay Screen including a built-in POS system secured by a heavy duty ceiling mounted bracket allowing to set the perfect height for the screen with tilting adjustment up to 30 degree. We have had to bring in a scaffolding to ensure a safe working platform in such height. Secured the ceiling mounted bracket into a concrete block above the entrance at approx 5 meter height. Following requirements of the position and tilt angle of the screen we have set and secured the screen as requested.

Results

Safe and secure installation as per clients request. All parties were happy with the result.

ARCADIA RETAIL PARK - ATHLONE

Background

Arcadia Athlone Retail Park is a prime midlands retail destination just off Junction 11 on the M6/N6 Motorway with over 500 free surface car parking spaces.

The project

We were hired by a third party contractor for a simple task and we were delighted to do it as it showcases our flexibility and versatility of our company. Two car counting devices had to be removed and returned to the main contractor from the parks tower billboard units. These car counting devices were located and secured at 10 meter in height.

Challenges & Solutions

We have assigned two of our engineers who were holding and went through MEWP SAFETY TRAINING to complete this task. The weather did not help as it was quite windy but still safe for our engineers to secure the rented self driving mobile vertical boom lift and complete the task without any problems.

Results

We completed the task and returned units as requested by the client.

VIP / HALE - LIFFEY VALLEY SHOPPING CENTRE

Background

Founded in 2016, Hale has been in the Vaping business for over five years but their roots go much deeper than that. They are a family owned business with over 40 years’ experience in the retail sector through their parent company SFW. With a huge portfolio of shops, kiosks, stands nationwide Hale is the leading and one of the most trusted Irish brands in the Vaping Industry.

The project

We were delighted to be the chosen partner by a third party company to assist HALE with their digital signage needs. When it comes to jobs as they say there are no jobs too small or large for us here at Aviplus and we work with the same enjoyment regardless of the size of the project. In Hale's Liffey Valley the task was simple but important, replacing an AllSee 32" digital display screen in the built-in and closed cabinet. There was no challenge in this however it did require quite a bit of organisation such as getting access and keys for the locked cabinet.

Challenges & Solutions

The Liffey Valley Contracting working hours are set between 6am - 9am the only challenge was that we had to make sure we're on site at approved hours and we complete the task. The like for like screen change ended up not being a like for like as the new model screen had different mounting options. Our engineers had a limited time to quickly adapt and improvise with a new secure mounting option.

Results

We completed the task at 8:55am and we were approaching the exit with the task well completed leaving a new flashy and engaging screen for the customers and staff. Hale management was happy with our workflow which has resulted in more work in our way from Hale. Happy partnership leads to results and profits for all!

Their engineers are by far the best in the country with certification as official repair outlets provided and recognised by the biggest companies in the world such as apple, samsung, huawei.

The project

To install a high brightness wall mounted digital screen able to operate 12 hours a day at least and to broadcast their services. Along the screen installation we were asked to create content also in the form of an eye catching MP4 video showcasing their services.

Challenges & Solutions

Following our survey we have recommended a  55" screen above the shop front as this was the biggest possible screen that would fit onto the wall. We have also installed a Giada DN73 Media Player and connected it to the screen so the content can play without glitches continuously in a loop mode,  We have created the video also as per clients request containing all information they wanted to share with clients and visitors.

Results

We have provided a full digital signage solution from A-Z taking care from sourcing the most suitable hardware, installing this and creating the content. We are extremely proud of this small but very important and neat project. Our client is 100% satisfied and happy with our work.

PARK WEST INFORMATION CENTRE - DUBLIN

Background

Park West is one of the best business, technology and residential parks in Dublin. A well organised and managed business park with a great community spirit and 300 + businesses and residential businesses located here including a convenience store, medical practice, pharmacy, leisure and fitness club and childcare facilities to take care of you and your family.

The project

The management of Park West renovated their information centre ( glass house/ glass box)  located in the centre of the park above a pond with a great overall view through their glass walls. New high quality wooden floors, open space and a new state of the art Interactive 86"  VESTEL screen plus a Yealink conferencing kit was all part and parcel of this project.

Challenges & Solutions

The challenge started when we examined the wall where the 93Kg robust screen supposed to be fitted. Quickly learned that the partition wall studs which were spaced out by  400mm standard will not match our distance for our screen brackets. We had to be sure that we would have a very strong support and screen brackets had to be secured to the studs behind the plasterboard.

The solution was to secure a 18mm MDF behind the screens on an area of 17meter in width and 900mm in height secured to 4 studs spreading the screen weight over a large area. This allowed us to secure our screen brackets to the MDF board which was the best and most solid and rigid solution to achieve a safe and secure screen installation.

Results

The robust 2meter  * 1 meter screen https://www.vestelvisualsolutions.com/pdf/2/commercial-datasheet/ifd86ti640b-a3.pdf was secure and almost covered the entire wall as a centre piece for the Park West Information Centre. Needless to say that we have gone the extra mile for safety and secure completion. Management was amazed with the size and the intelligence of this state of the art screen and with our work.

VIP / HALE - OMNI SHOPPING CENTRE

The project

Followed by our work in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre we were asked to get an existing screen going in their brand new shop in Omni Shopping Centre.`followed by a quick survey all we had to do is to supply a media player pre=loaded with their content and to connect it. Needless to say that it was no challenge in this and with our fast response time this was done as quick as vape sale with no disturbance on the shop floor.

Challenges & Solutions

Supplying a media player with preloaded content to minimise time spent on site at this case on the shop floor,

Results

We completed the task in less than an hour and the screen was up and running as requested.

HEATWISE- TULLAMORE

Background

Heatwise was established in 1985 and  has grown to become one of the Premier Irish owned Heating & Plumbing, Bathroom, Tile and Laminate Flooring suppliers in Ireland today. We supply quality products to both the residential and commercial markets, showcasing our wide range of products in an impressive 20,000 sq. ft. showroom based in Tullamore, Co Offaly.

The project

The Heartwise showroom is huge and absolutely stunning with thousands of products on display and several special offers in place for their visitors. The management aim was to create a point in the showroom where all these special offers can be found in one place. Heatwise, Tilewise and Bathroom 101 visitors are spoiled for choice and special offers can be time consuming going around or to go back to check out an in store offer again displayed.

Challenges & Solutions

We have suggested installing and setting up a T14 Floor Standing 55" double sided display where all the special offers can be displayed and looped, helping customers to remember and identify the offers seen on the showroom floor. Due to the ample of promotions and offers in Heatwise content management was critical to please the management as the high volume of content had to be managed by one of their staff members. We have organised a free trial period for Heatwise with two digital signage software companies allowing for management to test and study each software before choosing so it will serve and help their format of trading and business.

This particular Model T14 it is only been manufactured in black casing. To match the interior of the showroom the management requested a white unit. Here at Aviplus we don't do problems and upon request we have professionally wrapped the black unit with white durable vinyl to fulfil the request of our client.

Results

The T14 Floor Standing 55" double sided display unit with two large 55" screens was the perfect solution for Heatwise allowing them to display crucial Covid-19 warning and informational images along with their own videos and graphics.

NEW INDIAN DINNER  - DONABATE

Background

The New Indian Dinner is a very well established Take Away in Donabate Co.Dublin. Earned its reputation by their outstanding quality and by consistently serving great value delicious meals with impeccable delivery time keeping.

The project

The owners decided that it is time to change their static cardboard menu board and go digital. The main agenda with this project was to increase general sales, to focus on up sales and to improve the appearance of their fast food establishment to a more modern look. The challenge began when we learned their menu, containing a serious amount of starters, main courses, deserts and special offers!

Solutions

We have suggested allocating one screen to broadcast their special offers and meal deals only, containing eye catching graphic designs to create an impact and grabbing customers attention. We have installed two 43" Vestel screens hung from the ceiling by using heavy duty ceiling mount brackets fixed to concrete above the ceiling tiles. We were paying attention and focusing on a very neat install making sure the screen edges are on the exact same level down to a millimetre, the screen's tilting angle is also exactly the same.   We have used Vestel OPS media players to be able to manage the and schedule the ample amount of content easily.

Results

Happy client, the Jpeg menus graphics were designed and created by our graphic design team using the right amount of text per slide, the perfect size letters to achieve eye catching complex but at the same time easy to read menu boards which is also pleasant for the eye. For the other screen we have designed content focusing on the special offers and value deals. As all of our projects this one also went super smooth and resulted in success.
